«I have so many favorite films that I have found it difficult to choose a film for you» – Alexander began. Maitre brought his film and admitted that he mistakenly understood that he needs to bring his favorite film.

«Shine, My Star» — a Mitta tragicomedy, 1969.  According to the director, this film has endured many trials to find the audience. Alexander Naumovich spoke in detail about his creation: «We had no theory, had no clearly defined text. We worked intuitively. Genre tragicomedy was new in those days. But we wanted to make a film with a completely impossible title in those days „Requiem for Meyerhold.“ And then even his name was forbidden. It was our internal problem. But there was another problem: in those days „thaw“ brought a personal view in the film, that’s why we also wanted to make the film about ourselves.»

«I had an idea to show the three men, three characters, people who were also friends and enemies,» — Mitta said about the idea and the cast film. Oleg Tabakov, Yevgeny Leonov and Oleg Efremov were this trio, whose role in the Mitta film considered as the best.

Also, the director shared a few stories from his biography.

The creators of the Romanian film, unfortunately, were unable to attend the festival and represent their work. But the audience had an opportunity to comprehend the meaning and the idea of the ​​film «Best intentions.»

In the film weren’t mentioned about any love, so probably in the title reflects Romanian interpretation of the winged phrase «Good intentions pave road to hell.»

Director of the film – is well-known in his native film industry — Adrian Sitaru.

The main character in Sitaru film — Alex, a man with a difficult and unstable temper. His mother at the hospital with stroke, and Alex goes to take care of her. And despite the fact that his mother is getting better, he makes some mistakes, though with best intentions.

«Not only his relatives tired of his character, but the whole audience,» — said some viewers about Alex. At the screening of Romanian film were seen festival guests – presenter of the opening ceremony Vladimir Dykhovichny and Yana Amorsova, as well as an actress Yana Yesipovich.

Before the beginning of the next film, director from Thailand Wichanon Somumjarn and actor Uthen Sririwi came on the stage. The Thais were young, smiling and very friendly. They told that this festival — the second for the film. And it turned out that the actor sees the film in which he starred for the first time.

«Before you watch the film, release all thoughts and relax» — with these words to the applause of the audience the filmmakers went to the auditorium.

Wichanon debut film is called «In April the following year, there was a fire,» and from the first frame the audience was pleased with irony of the authors. In the film, the characters meet with filmmakers who are shooting low-budget film. When they were asked where you can watch their films, they answer: "Most likely, at international film festivals. Films are screening only there”.

The main character Nhum loses his job in Bangkok and returns to his hometown. The director shows not only the life of the character, but the whole Thai society. Also the author of the film includes interviews with his own father and brother.

"This is the story of my life, my political views, and my beliefs. This is my story, "- commented the director his debut.

After the show, viewers were invited to stay and ask questions to the creators. Were quite a lot of questions, about the technical side of shooting, budget, future plans and whether it’s true that all Thais are nice?

Also the director shared his impressions of Siberia: «You make me happy!»

Marjane Satrapi well-known as a creator of graphic novella and as a result of an animation film “Persepolis” which was nominated for “Oscar” and also took a prize on festival in Cannes, got award “Sezar” and many others. Just as her first animation so the first film Marjane created together with painter Vencan Paronno.

Film was presented by Cristel Berjaht – Secretary General ofFrench-RussianAcademy. She read an announcement of madam Satrapi.

“Is it possible to imagine such a distant and attractive place? Especially to a man like me who never been here before. I hope that my film will wake you imagination up just as thoughts about your city and the festival woke up mine. And you will have just the same pleasure from watching the film which we had while created it”.

Hopes of the debutant came true as the film was received very well. Nice movie with cute humor and sad content left no one indifferent. Liking of Satrapi for animation and making of graphic novellas obvious in the very beginning.

Action takes place in Teheran. Violin of well-known in the past musician brakes down. After that he loses sense of life and dies in a week. Film shows last days of his life filled with beautiful memories and cruel reality.

Anniversary festival proves more and more that ugorian people like French cinema. And according to the words of Cristel Frenchmen fall in love with Siberian land. After reading the letter from Marjane Satrapi Secretary General of French-Russian Academy added personally: “Please never show such hospitality to our guests again. It was really hard to send back Fanny Ardant and all Frenchmen do not want to go to Moscow or St. Petersburg now. They talk about Siberia only!”.

Georgian film was in a deep contrast with French one. If “Chiken with Plums” more like a tale so “Salt white” demonstrates the reality of post-soviet Georgia. Waitress who works days and nights in hope to have her own bar in her motherland, lonely policeman-refugee, homeless children – these are the heroes of the story.

We would like to remind you that it is possible to see the program of international competition in the small hall of Art Centre. Viewers have already seen films from Belgium, Ukraine, Portugal, France and Georgia. Next contestants are Romania, Thailand, Argentina and Spain.

“Today you will see one of the most serious films of the world cinema – Sergey Solovyov began. – It is film “Ludwig” by Lukino Visconti”.

This drama film tells about life of Bavarian king Ludwig II. The main character obsessed by Wagner music, gorgeous castle building and hopeless loneliness.  In Visconti’s interpretation Ludwig is a monarch of not his time: he feels himself too tight in established constitutional monarchy. Main characters of the film are presented by famous actors. Ludwig’s part presented by Helmut Berger. Empress Elisabeth the Austrian presented by Romi Schneider — double holder “Sezar” award for the best woman’s role. In 1974 film “Ludwig” by Visconti was nominated for Oscar.

“Many people think that all misfortune happen because of the fact that world organized in wrong laws – continued the President of the festival – Ludwig’s story is a story of high quality organization of mind, soul and educational census. Most fine demands for the world presented for it to be organized with most complicated demands for human’s soul”.

There are two versions of the film: short one which is about 3 hours and full one which is over 4 hours. The director brought full version of the film to Khanty-Mansiysk and it is very unique. But not all the viewers were ready for such a surprise. Media presenters left screening room within first 30 minutes some viewers followed them also.

“This is the story of beauty nature in our world. Ludwig feels world beauty absence and the lack of this beauty is so sharp for him that he always on the border of life and death. It is followed by unusual personal extinction and personal transformation” – continued Solovyov.

The director told about the way he got acquaintance with the film: “The first time I saw the film I thought what idiocy was it. I watched the short version. But the biggest pleasure I got inVenicewhen instead of enjoying city I watched the full version of the film. By the end of second hour I judged myself for the choice I made, by the end of the third hour I wanted it never ends and by the end of the fourth hour I realized that I can watch “Ludwig” forever. I got to the world of art sorcery where you don’t have to wrack your brains but only enjoy”.

“I don’t know who of you will be able to stand almost five hours but the one who will have a chance to feel the art world of the film will feel the real happiness, underlined Sergey Solovyov. – “Cause the most mysterious and proper way to experience the world is art”.

At the Atrium of the "Ugorskaya Dolina” Professional Cinematographers Club already became a tradition. During the evening dinner various cultural programs for participants, guests and organizers of the festival are organized.

Guest of the evening February, 28^th was a German rock band «Reien Won Vielen». Folk-motives animate guests of  the evening. Yana Yesipovich, Evgeny Stychkin, Irina Grineva were enjoying the music and dancing.

The highlight was a duet the German artists with famous in Ugra poet and social activist Maria Kuzminichna Voldina, who celebrated her 75th anniversary in 2011.

The band leader throat singing and Maria Khanty tunes surprised guests of the festival. Guests of the evening, who were interested in the culture of Ugra, were talking with indigenous of Ugra and taking pictures.

Remind you, February, 29^th the acquaintance with the peculiarities of Ugra will continue at 11-00 pm at the “Backyard” of «Ugorskaya Dolina» — snow games, festivities and national food are expected.

First film was not presented by anyone so viewers had to catch the idea without any introduction. “My dad Baryshnikov” is a film of “perestroika” times about young ballet dancer Boris Fishkin who certain about the fact that his real father is a great dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov.

“The dry valley” was presented by its’ director Alexandra Strelianaya and the main character actress Yana Yesipovich. “Thank you for coming in such a beautiful day to watch our film. Probably you have already read that it is a screen version of story “The dry valley” by Ivan Bunin. This is debut film and all our team are debutants too. This film appeared from attraction of polar values: it was important for me to understand what about settled people and nomads talk when they meet as The dry valley’s inhabitants always wait for something from the horizon. It is also important for me how is it happening that heathenism and Christianity appear at the same person” – said Alexandra.”

“The dry valley” is a film about Russia of the the end of 19^th century.

Grand Hall was almost full. It seems the slogan of the film «Cinema for those who live in the 10th» has influenced, and also the fact that Konstantin helped to create the famous «Boomer» (Part Two).

The premiere was held in October 2011, the film was even nominated for the main prize of the festival «Kinotavr».

In Ugra actor Roman Madianov introduced «Bablo».

"Good evening Khanty-Mansiysk and the anniversary festival «Spirit of Fire.» Thank you for your support. I also have debut today — I present the film for the first time "- the actor greeted the audience.

Roman admitted that he was always lucky with the teams: «I've always been lucky to different people. And now I am thankful that my creative destiny crossed with Kostya Buslov. It all started with a script.» Guest shared a secret that actors are usually paying attention only to their lines, when they are looking through a script.

"When I started reading Buslov’s script, I realized that I must read it from the beginning to the end. I liked the fact that there was no «water», but there was the dynamics. "

The next hour and a half the audience acquainted with the history of money that was hunted by the rich businessmen, and a group of bandits and even police.

Denis Uljanov is the author of the project. Citizens and guest can get to know the works in period from 24^th of February till 1^st of April.

There are several exhibitions presented which united with single theme “Cinema as art”. This is photo exhibition presented by actor and diplomat Uozas Budraitis who professionally has been going in for photography since 1960^th. There is also exhibition of pictorial, graphic and photo works of artists and photographers of Khanty-Mansiyskiy autonomous okrug – Ugra. Not only young artists participated but also well-known as Gennadiy Rayshev and Vladimir Igoshev. Interesting fact: all works by Gennadiy Stepanovich are presented on back side of the photos and film frames from soviet movies.

For full impression a shooting ground was recreated in exhibition hall with all necessary attributes.

Also all visitors have an opportunity to dip into the history of the festival “Spirit of fire” thank to presented exposition.

On the ramp of the museum photographs from all ten festivals presented. There are huge amount of pictures just as with celebrities so with camera man of broadcasting company “Ugra”. Viewing the pictures you can also meet interesting installations.

Expositions were not the only thing in the museum so in frames of the project «CINEMAMANIA» on Sunday night workers of the museum arranged “Art night” dedicated to the history of world cinema.

“The night” began at 7 p.m. and finished at midnight. In first part of the program chorus of  Alexander Galushko singed. Later for fashion lovers took place presentation of suits collection “Anna Karenina”.

At 9 o’clock body-art action “Cinema art” began. Artists worked with “live canvases” and visitors could vote for the works they liked. At the same time in conference hall everybody could see the works of young directors of Ugra.

It was possible to see characters of world cinema in the lobby. It was easy to recognize Charlie Chaplin and also vampire graph Orlok from silent film “Nospheratu. Horror symphony” by German director Fridrich Wilgelm Murnau. An actor was so absorbed by his character that always tried to bite anyone who wanted to make a picture with him.

Evening’s culmination was rock concert with young and experienced musicians from Khanty-Masiysk. Independent Unification of Free-thinking Artists-Musicians “Dvachasa”, “Spiritual blues orchestra of Ilya Verkhovskiy”, folk-team “Yanra”, and recently appeared group “Zhuk”. “Zhuk” is a band of two beautiful girls – professional violinist Svetlana and singing guitarist Azaliya who has strong jazz voice. Together they sing over hits of world rock legends.

An interesting aspect of the concert was visualizations. And there were so many people who wanted to see all this with their own eyes that conference hall was not big enough to contain all visitors.

“This is the second time when we arrange Art Night and experience demonstrates that it is very popular among ugorian people especially among youth”, — said museum worker Natalia Galicyna.

«Voin.com» — a comedy about a young man Ignat and the Military Commissar. Ignat is expelled from the Institute for hard drinking and he returns to his native country town, where the local commissar is waiting him for a long time. A young man in every way «running away» from the commissar, not to get into the army. But in the course of time the «victim» and «hunter» are getting closer to each other, and the situation takes a different turn...

"I want to say that I have friends. There are many, and not all of them, thank God, in the film industry. They always ask, «Why are you doing this?» I said: «I do not know. I like it when people smile.» And recently the film was released, and I'm glad that more people will see my film and smile. I would also like to say that it is a full debut: in the creation of the film took part six debutants "- said before the screening Elena Bychkova.

Also there were the President of the Festival Sergey Solovyov and Leonid and his wife and daughter, as well as Renat Davletiarov, who brought his film to the festival, that relevant to the topic of the meeting.

«Five times before my son Mitya and I came out on stage and represented a family, and now we changed it. I have the honor and pleasure to present my old friends — Yarmolnik family»- said Sergey Solovyov.

It seems, years of participation as a member of the jury in the Club of Hilarious and Witty had an impact on Yarmolnik — from the first words he began to joke.

«Our family has grown, we have adopted an adult boy!» — said Yarmolnik, patting Davletyarov on the head, causing a storm of applause. — «Sergey told me afterwards that he wanted me to adopt him too.»

Then Leonid introduced his daughter Alexandra and wife Oksana, and shared memories of family life.

"We have a small but very friendly family. In May we will be thirty years old. I remember the days when Alex was little; she ran to us in bed and sat down beside. One day she ran this way and says: «Mom, look, Daddy made ​​a wry face!» And my wife says in a dream: «Darling, it's not made ​​a wry, he had such a face all the time.»

Then there was Renat Davletyarov and presented his first film «We are family» starring Leonid Yarmolnik. «One of the most successful producers» (as introduced him the actor) admitted  that he became a director by a chance. In fact two months before filming approved director felt ill, and Renat had to take work on the films in his own hands.

The film «We are family» a warm, kind, inducing us to think about family values​​. The film was compatible with the playful and friendly atmosphere and completed the meeting.

What made Ugra people to completely fill the Grand Hall – whether it were famous names or the presentation of Davletyarov director’s debut — remains a mystery. But the fact that all were satisfied — is undeniable.
