THE PARTNERS OF THE 9th INTERNATIONAL DEBUT FILM FESTIVAL OF CINEMATOGRAPHY «SPIRIT OF FIRE» :

By order the IX International Debut Film Festival of Cinematography «Spirit of Fire» will be held from February, 19 till February, 25th, 2011 in the city of Khanty-Mansi and will be devoted to the film as to a work of art. We intend to devote the festival of this year to a world cinema, the classics of world cinema and modern world cinema which intends to regard again high esthetic values of a film as paramount importance. In particular, the Soviet cinema art was especially appreciated in world cultural life as a great esthetic phenomenon.

In this connection our festival plans to organize retrospective shows of great world cinema directors: Fellini, Antonioni, Bergman, Trjuffo, Visconti, Vajdy; and also to show a film of great Soviet director Sergey Eisenstein «the Battleship Potyomkin», which left on the screen 85 years ago.
As before, the international competition of the best world cinema debuts of 2010 will be the center of festival displays. Following the results of this competition the main traditional prizes of festival will be: «the Gold taiga», «the Silver taiga» and «the Bronze one», and also the big special prize of jury.
«The panorama of the Russian debuts of 2010» will use special attention of organizers of festival. Some years we hand over honourable prizes «the Gold taiga» to three best Russian debuts. The make a decision in these nominations.

The government of the Russian Federation declared the year 2010 «the Year of cinema» and «the Year of theater». In particular, this festival «Spirit of fire» is passed to support of this decision. In theatrical area, within the limits of the cultural program of festival we hope to show some the most considerable new solo performances using great attention of spectators and the press. Some popular bands should arrive to our festival which to act with concerts in an operating time of Professional club of cinematographers.
In «the Center of arts» will be shown the big retrospective show of children's and youthful cinema in which we will show also classics of this genre, both absolutely new art and animation films. As always we will show also a collection of the newest releases of magazine «Jumble» which is loved by the young spectator.

Within the limits of the traditional social programs of festival addressed to the Khanty-Mansi spectator, cinema «Day of the family» will be spe and display of films for people with the limited possibilities will be continued under the program «Cinema for all». Also the program «Myths of the North people» will be continued .
It is very important for us the extrascreen festival life. We hope that during the festival young cinematographers will come into contact with each other, discuss the main problems of modern Russian cinema in the context of today's existence of a world cinema. With that end in view we will spend variety of discussions and round tables.
We hope that the festival «Spirit of fire» of 2011 will not only continue all that best that was created during the previous eight festivals, but also will find out the new tendencies, new films and other works of art which the young generation of cinematographers will bring in our life and in cultural use of the nation.
